The industry takes care of its own.
Help us prove it.

Sales drives every business. But when the people behind those numbers hit a crisis – illness, redundancy, circumstances beyond their control – there’s rarely a safety net.

The Salespeople’s Charity exists to be that net.
You can help us keep it in place.

One promise

When one of us struggles, the rest of us step forward.

Seven

For seven generations, we've looked out for, and after, one another. We're simply the current custodians of that tradition.

950,000

People work in UK B2B sales. You're part of something bigger.

Founded in 1849 by five salespeople looking after one of their own.
Some instincts stay with us.

No one succeeds alone.

That’s true in sales.

It’s true in life.

And it’s been true of this charity for more than 177 years.

Founded by five salespeople who came together to help a colleague in need, The Salespeople’s Charity has always been built on one simple belief: when one of us is struggling, the rest of us step forward.

That has never meant simply giving people a handout. It has always meant offering a hand up – helping people overcome hardship, regain their confidence and move forward with dignity. While the world has changed enormously since 1849, that principle remains just as important today.

Today, there are many ways to be part of that tradition. You might volunteer your expertise, become a trustee, advocate for our work, introduce new partners or simply help spread the word. Every contribution strengthens our ability to support salespeople and our profession.

If you’re able to support us financially through a donation or by remembering us in your Will, you’ll help ensure that this tradition continues for generations to come.

Volunteer

Volunteering with The Salespeople’s Charity isn’t just about giving your time. It’s about helping shape the future of our profession.

For many people, becoming a Trustee is the most rewarding way to get involved. Our Trustees bring together a wide range of experience from sales, leadership, finance, marketing, technology, law, welfare, governance and many other professions. Together, they guide the charity, make grant decisions and help shape our future direction.

But there are many other ways to contribute.

As our work grows, we’re also looking to build a network of people who are willing to share their expertise on specific projects, provide specialist advice, introduce new partnerships, support research, mentor others or simply lend their experience when it’s needed.

Whether you can give a few hours each year or play a more active role, we’d love to hear from you.

Becoming a Trustee

Trustees are responsible for the overall governance of the charity and play an active role in supporting our work.

This includes considering grant applications, helping shape our strategy, acting as ambassadors for the charity and ensuring we continue to serve salespeople effectively and responsibly.

Before joining the Board, prospective Trustees meet with the Charity Manager to learn more about the charity, its work and the responsibilities of Trusteeship. Suitable candidates are then invited to attend a Board meeting before being considered for appointment.

Trustees are appointed for a five-year term and are eligible to stand for reappointment at the end of that period.
